AMS-IX USA Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of AMS-IX (Amsterdam Internet Exchange), and Telx, a leading provider of global interconnectivity, data center solutions, and cloud enablement services, today announce a partnership to open up a new AMS-IX Bay Area Point of Presence (PoP) within Telx’s SFR1 data center facility located at 200 Paul Avenue in San Francisco, California.

This partnership enables AMS-IX Bay Area and Telx to provide additional reliable, fast, and cost-effective peering opportunities to connected parties on the AMS-IX platform, including customers that are located in other data center facilities. Customers of AMS-IX Bay Area can also locate and/or expand their equipment in Telx’s secure and network-rich interconnection facility, SFR1.

“Our partnership with AMS-IX USA to open up a new AMS-IX Bay Area PoP within the SFR1 facility demonstrates Telx’s commitment to fueling infrastructure, interconnection, and business progress,” said Chris Downie, CEO of Telx. “The neutral and distributed Internet exchange model will bring the interconnection market in the San Francisco/Silicon Valley area enormous value, while attracting more customers and stimulating job growth and innovation in the region.”
